A Clear Read On Your Dog
Matt listens to what is actually happening at home, the barking, the pulling, the reactivity, and tells you straight what is driving it.
16 years of hands-on dog training in Middle Tennessee. Matt Burnett works with your dog in your home and at his own, so the training holds up in real life, not just in a training session. Your first consultation is free.
No pressure and no script. Just a straight conversation about your dog.
Matt listens to what is actually happening at home, the barking, the pulling, the reactivity, and tells you straight what is driving it.
Board & Train, private lessons or group classes, whichever genuinely fits your dog, your schedule and your household.
Clients say the same thing over and over: Matt trains the owner as much as the dog, and sends follow-up videos so you stay consistent between sessions.
If you recognize your dog in any of these, you are exactly who Matt works with.
Walks are a wrestling match. Your dog lunges, barks or locks up the second another dog comes into view.
Two dogs in the same house who cannot settle around each other, or a rescue who panics and snaps when they feel cornered.
Jumping on guests, counter-surfing, bolting through the door, ignoring you the moment it actually matters.
You would love to let them run in the yard or on a trail, but you do not trust the recall, so the long line never comes off.

Which one is right for your dog is exactly what the free consultation is for.
Your dog lives and trains with Matt for three weeks, building real off-leash obedience around daily distractions. Only four dogs at a time, so your dog is never one of a crowd. Finishes with a handoff lesson so you know exactly how to keep it.
One-on-one sessions in your home and in the places you actually take your dog. Best when you want to do the work yourself with Matt coaching you through it, with follow-up videos after each session.
Structured obedience around other dogs and other handlers, which is the real-world distraction most dogs never get to practice with.
Matt has been training dogs for 16 years and has run Allegiant Canine for the last 8, built almost entirely on word of mouth from families in Spring Hill, Thompson Station and the towns around them.
There is no commercial kennel here. Matt trains dogs in his clients' homes and at his own place in Chapel Hill, and he takes no more than four Board & Train dogs at a time, so every dog gets real attention instead of a slot on a board.
He works the whole picture: aggression and reactivity, fearful rescues, high-drive puppies, and service dog tasks. Clients keep reaching for the same words, patient, firm, and always willing to explain the why behind every method.

“Matt's confidence, approachability, and leadership made it easy for us to trust him. I was a bit doubtful that our 1-year-old Havanese, Gus, needed to be off-leash trained. Each day, my family gets joy out of seeing Gus run free in our yard and the woods. Also, from a financial perspective, Matt's training is much less than the fence quote we considered before our pup was off-leashed trained!”
“It was clear that he wasn't just focused on basic commands or “checking boxes” with training, he really looks at the whole dog. What really stood out to me was how much he focused on educating us as owners. He didn't just train Amelia, he taught us how to continue the work, stay consistent, and actually understand what we were doing and why.”
“Matt helped us when our dog Zeppelin started showing dog aggression and went after a neighborhood dog. Matt gave us great tips and tools, which made a huge difference in Zeppelin's confidence, as well as our confidence in Zep. We have learned to advocate for him, and not put him in situations that could set him up for failure.”
“Matt & everyone at Allegiant Canine is amazing. Matt has trained my dog, as well as boarded her while I was away. I know when she's with Matt she is in the best care possible. His heart and passion for animals is truly unmatched. I never have to worry when my girl is with Allegiant.”
“I've had several sessions with Matt for my (VERY drivey) Labrador puppy, Winston, and the results have been incredibly positive. He keeps things simple, practical, and easy to apply day-to-day. The follow-up YouTube videos after each session are a huge bonus and make it easy to stay consistent with the training.”
“Matt is an exceptional trainer who cares deeply about how dogs and people work together and he teaches the handler as much as the dog. He trained my daughter's service dog to do deep pressure therapy to help with sensory issues and got him up to speed on general obedience.”
“Matt was great with our little doodle. And us! He was patient but firm with us and Ruby. He explained the WHY behind the reasoning for his type of training. His training was also easy to follow. He would make videos at the end of every training so we could look back on things if we were stuck.”
“Matt has been our dog trainer since Samson was born and we are so grateful to have had him guide us over the years! Through e-collar training, prong collar training, and more, Matt has cared for Samson and I, really giving me the training I need to be a good dog mom. Matt has stuck around for years and still continues to check in with us from time to time.”
“Matty was recommended in the Spring Hill area, so we contacted him to help with our “aggressive” or reactive French Bulldog. He came to our home for lessons weekly and we did a 1 week board and train, per his recommendation. He taught us how to continue training between lessons, build on skills, and handle everyday situations where our dog was previously super reactive.”
“Matt Burnett is truly a dog whisperer. He cares deeply about rescues and is passionate about the importance of quality training. Our goldendoodle is a different dog after being trained at Allegiant, and she is well-prepared for her new title of service dog. Matt is also wonderfully patient with our son, as he is learning to be our dog's handler.”
